FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Part of the fun at Speed Boat Adventures is that, at times, you will be riding in open water. Although the harbors we operate in are typically calm, we cannot guarantee that there won’t be any choppy rides. We do not recommend guests with neck or back problems or a recent surgery to participate. Pregnant women should also not participate.
Age/Children: We recommend that all children riding with adults be age five or older. Children under five are welcome on a case-by-case basis as long as the conditions of the water are fair and the child can physically hold on. If the water conditions are rough, it is not safe for a child under five to be onboard.
Age/Driver: To drive the boat alone, a person must be at least 18 years old for our San Diego and Tampa locations. At our Charleston location, all drivers must be 21 years of age.
Height/Weight: We do not have height requirements. Total weight limits for each boat may not exceed 450 lbs.
The great thing about our tours is that you really don’t get wet, so you can wear anything you like! Our guests wear anything from bathing suits to business suits depending on the weather. If it’s chilly outside, we have blankets, gloves, and jackets available for you to use.
Absolutely! You will stop several times during the Charleston Harbor and San Diego Harbor boat tours. On these stops, you can switch drivers if you like — even if it’s halfway through the tour!
